Job Description:
The Department of Physics and Astronomy invites applications for a full-time, temporary faculty position (#156160). This opening is a one year temporary position at the rank of Lecturer with possible annual contract renewal up to three years total. Employment will begin on August 1, 2017.
Successful candidates will teach introductory physics and astronomy lectures and laboratories.
Required Education:

Org. Setting and Reporting
This position is located in the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in Niger, Diffa. The Associate Information Management Officer reports to the Deputy Head of Office. OCHA is the part of the United Nations Secretariat responsible for bringing together humanitarian actors to ensure a coherent response to emergencies. OCHA also ensures there is a framework within which each actor can contribute to the overall response effort.

Responsibilities
Within delegated authority, the Associate Information Management Officer may be responsible for the following duties:

�Web Management: Manage content on relevant web platforms, undertake quality control for the platform and ensure content is current, comprehensive and follows relevant metadata standards; work with external counterparts on related web platforms such as agency and cluster websites and ReliefWeb to facilitate cross-site search and interoperability.

�Data Management: Support the design and development and manage the content of databases, spreadsheets and other data tools; understand, document, and ensure the quality of high-value humanitarian data for accuracy, consistency and comparability; support the consolidation of operational information on a regular schedule to support analysis.

�Data Analysis: Support the evaluation and analysis of location specific datasets through meaningful statistical techniques; participate in the development and revision of data standards (e.g. the Humanitarian Exchange Language); understand, document and ensure the quality of high-value humanitarian data for accuracy, consistency and comparability.

�Assessment Analysis: Support assessment and needs analysis activities, including humanitarian needs overviews, secondary data reviews, preliminary scenario definitions and multi-cluster initial rapid assessments; support the management of platforms and tools that support data collection and analysis such as KoBo Toolbox and Open Data Kit (ODK).

�Geographic Information System (GIS) and Mapping: Assist with the maintenance of spatial baseline and operational datasets in accordance with relevant standards and guidance; support the production and updating of high-quality map products and online services; maintain a repository of spatial data and ensure that the data are documented and accessible to all humanitarian partners through local and/or online services.

�Visualization: Assist in the production and updating of information products such as reports, charts and infographics by turning data into graphical products to convey messages and a storyline; develop advocacy materials including posters, presentations and other visual materials.

�Performs other related duties, as required.

Education
An advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent degree) in information management, information systems, social sciences or related field is required. A first-level university degree in combination with two years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.

A first-level university degree and no experience will be accepted for candidates who have passed the Young Professionals Programme Examination/United Nations National Competitive Recruitment Examination (NCRE) or the General Service to Professional Examination (G to P).

Work Experience
A minimum of two years of progressively responsible experience in information management, information systems, web management, data management, GIS & mapping, data visualization, or other related area, is required. Information management experience in the field (actual setting where a mission and/or project is being implemented) in emergency situations (complex emergency or natural disaster) is desirable. Experience in the the region is desirable.

Org. Setting and Reporting
This position will be located in the Planning and Operations Support Office of the Organisation for the Prohibitions of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) - United Nations (UN) Joint Investigative Mechanism (JIM), established by Security Council resolution 2235 (2015) and its renewal resolution 2319 (2016). This position will be based in New York. JIM is established for a period of one year. This temporary job opening is initially until 16 November 2017, subject to availability of funding. Responsibilities
Within delegated authority, the Information Management Officer will be responsible for the following duties:

� Provides advisory services on document and records management practices including: needs and business process analysis; organization and maintenance of information assets; documents and records preservation; and building solutions architecture, with an emphasis on technological applications.
� Manages archival processing activities by overseeing adherence to preservation, international bibliographic, description and database standards; produces descriptive inventories; prepares mark-up of descriptive inventories for electronic dissemination; and makes recommendations regarding the planning and prioritization of preservation and description programme requirements.
� Maintains access and declassification standards by liaising with records-originating offices/offices of interest regarding access to security-classified materials and implements access and declassification determinations.
� Develops detailed systems, functional specifications and standards for the JIM Document/Records/Content Management System, together with user documentation.
� Manages records accession and disposition functions by applying the life-cycle concept to information assets, including appraisal by liaising with records-originating JIM offices regarding the transfer and/or disposal of their records; assures that retention schedules, registration and physical aspects of records transfers meet established standards; and performs records appraisal.
� Understands, keeps current with and applies preservation techniques and strategies for JIM records in all media.
� Oversees the design, installation and commissioning of the JIM�s Offices' Local Area Network; drafts specifications and standards for the office covering PCs, peripherals, network equipment/appliances, and connectivity; provides support for the development of technical specifications for procurement of equipment.
� Provides technical advice to users, analyzing users� requirements, and then translating them into a business solution; proposes and determines application systems integration and linkage issues.
� Maintains, upgrades, and improves existing systems; troubleshoots and provides continuing user support, to include resolving challenging problems, advising on the use of new techniques, monitoring transactions to measure performance and continued effectiveness of assigned systems, etc.
� Handles technical aspects of contract administration, facilitates communication between Information Technology (IT) provider and clients, sustaining good client relations. Knowledge and certification of Sharepoint or other Document/Records Management system is an advantage. Certification in ITIL and Prince2 is desirable. Experience in carrying out programmatic/administrative tasks necessary for the functioning of the Unit/Section, including preparation of cost estimates, budget reporting, and recruitment of staff is desirable.
               
Languages
Fluency in one of the working languages of the UN Secretariat, English or French, (both oral and written) is required. Knowledge of the other is desirable. Knowledge of other UN official language is an advantage.

This position is located in the Pension Fund Records Management and Distribution Unit (RMDU) of the United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund (UNJSPF). The incumbent reports to
the Chief, Client Services, Record Management and Distribution Section through the Chief of Unit.
Responsibilities
Under the overall supervision of the Chief, Client Services, Record Management and Distribution Section through the Chief of Unit, the Information Management Assistant assists
with the following duties:

� Reviewing the daily incoming correspondence and communications received by the Fund which can be written in various languages, open, batch
and prepare them for scanning and then indexing in the Fund's electronic file system;
� Selecting and codifying, according to the nature of the communication and for each piece of correspondence, from various work flows and ultimately creating a new case file or adding to an existing one;
� Indexing incoming correspondence with the participant's pension number or the pensioner/beneficiary's retirement number and for all the Unique ID number; cross-referencing and name searching by using the Fund's Integrated Pension Administration System (IPAS). Assigning the destination of each piece of correspondence for action to the appropriate supervisor in one or more areas of the Fund secretariat on the basis of the type of action required, also assigning order of priority, i.e., death notices, separation notifications, payment instructions, etc.

Purpose for the job

Collaborate with a variety of stakeholders to document, propose and implement business process improvements. Understand and take account of business-focused needs for content discovery, to support key organizational business processes. Set up, configure and implement hierarchical storage management within the organization's ECM systems, including both independently and by a developers. Propose required migration/ disposal strategies for any repositories/archives to be brought into this system. Support operationalization of electronic and physical record filing and disposition. Where required, coordinate and automate bulk scanning and capture to turn hard copy documents and physical records into properly stored electronic copies. The temporary position is located in the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), under the general supervision of the Chief, Emergency Response Section and the direct supervision of the Coordinator, Early Warning and Information Support Unit/Field Operations and Technical Cooperation Division (FOTCD).
               
Responsibilities
The Information Management Officer will develop a strategy for the establishment of professional information management capacity within OHCHR. To achieve this the IMO will look into current information management processes, systems and data flows, and on the manner in which information is used and presented by OHCHR, defining what OHCHR�s information management needs are. The strategy will set out OHCHR�s specific information management needs in relation to OHCHR�s monitoring of country situations at HQ level and by its field presences. It will set out how to meet these needs through the gradual establishment of information management capacity. The strategy will draw upon work conducted in the process of leading the inter-agency task force on the development of the Human Rights Up Front Common UN Information Management System on human rights violations (CIMS), and specifically work related to OHCHR�s internal information management. It will further require a stocktake of different information management tools currently used in OHCHR, including issues related to confidentiality, access rights, information captured, etc. The strategy should include: (1) an OHCHR information exchange protocol; (2) a practical and realistic implementation plan for the establishment of professional information management capacity; and (3) job profiles for the required information management staff. To the extent possible and as time allows, the IMO shall also: (1) provide feedback and advise on the creation of the �Rights View� tool; and (2) advise upon the information management processes required to establish the CIMS, including in coordination with UN information management partners; and (3) provide guidance on improving the manner in which OHCHR presents information. Education
Advanced university degree (Master�s degree or equivalent) in information management, information systems, social science or related field. A first-level university degree with two additional years of qualifying experience may be acceptable in lieu of the advanced university degree.
               
Work Experience
At least 7 years of progressively responsible work experience at both headquarters and country-level in information management, information systems, or other related areas, is required. Experience in the United Nations system is required. Experience in the review of existing information management systems and experience in Human Rights or a related field is desirable. Experience in writing and documenting strategic thinking and understanding of practical training and capacity building solutions is desirable.
               
Languages
Fluency in oral and written English is required; knowledge of another UN language would be an asset.
               
Assessment
Evaluation of qualified applicants may include an eliminatory assessment exercise which may be followed by a competency-based interview.
